A modern defender shaped across Europe
Tarik Muharemović was born on 28 February 2003 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He grew up in Austria and began his football journey at a young age, developing through Austrian youth football before making the step into the professional game.
His path has taken him through several different football cultures. Austria gave him his foundation, Juventus introduced him to the tactical demands of Italian football, and Sassuolo provided the platform for him to establish himself at senior level.
A left-footed centre-back, Muharemović is known for his composure in possession, physical presence and ability to build attacks from the defensive line. His progress at club level also opened the door to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
In 2026, he began a new stage of his career by joining Leeds United, taking his game into English football and the Premier League environment.
