Bosnia and Herzegovina head coach Sergej Barbarez has confirmed the 23 players who will be available for the upcoming match against Romania, with Tarik Muharemovic retaining his place among the defensive options.
The squad includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, nine midfielders and three forwards. The most notable absence is captain Edin Dzeko, who will watch the game from the stands together with Samed Bazdar and Nail Omerovic.
Muharemovic remains in the defensive group
Tarik Muharemovic is again part of Barbarez's defensive selection and is one of eight defenders available for the match. He is joined by Sead Kolasinac, Nihad Mujakic, Nikola Katic, Stjepan Radeljic, Zinedin Smajlovic, Amar Memic and Arjan Malic.
The composition of the back line gives Barbarez several options in central defence as well as on the flanks. Muharemovic's inclusion means the Leeds United defender remains firmly in the matchday plans following the previous fixture against Poland.
One change compared with the Poland match
There is only one personnel change compared with the squad selected for the previous game against Poland. Luka Djuric has been included in place of Nail Omerovic.
Djuric joins a midfield group that also features Ivan Sunjic, Ivan Basic, Ermin Mahmic, Armin Gigovic, Kerim Alajbegovic, Esmir Bajraktarevic, Benjamin Tahirovic and Ajdin Hasic.
In attack, Barbarez has selected Ermedin Demirovic, Jovo Lukic and Haris Tabakovic. With Dzeko not among the 23 players, one of those three forwards is expected to carry the main responsibility in the final third.
