Tarik Muharemović continues to make a positive impression at Leeds United following his summer move from Sassuolo, and the Bosnia and Herzegovina defender has now attracted attention away from the pitch as well.
Muharemović recently took part in a social media video where he was asked to build his ideal five-a-side team from footballers he has played alongside during his career. Despite having plenty of quality options to choose from, only one of his Bosnia and Herzegovina teammates made the final selection.
Sassuolo players dominate his choices
Most of Muharemović's selections came from his time at Sassuolo, where the young defender gained valuable experience alongside several well-known players.
For the goalkeeper position, Muharemović selected Arijanet Murić, while his defensive choice was Jay Idzes, with both players having shared the dressing room with him at the Italian club.
In midfield, the Leeds defender picked experienced midfielder Nemanja Matić alongside Kristian Thorstvedt. The combination would give his imaginary team plenty of physical strength, experience and quality in the middle of the pitch.
Džeko wins the final attacking spot
The most interesting decision came when Muharemović had to choose the final player for his team. His options were Kristian Volpato and Edin Džeko.
After receiving a little "assistance" from the presenter, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international ultimately decided to select Džeko for the final attacking position.
That made Džeko the only Bosnia and Herzegovina teammate included in Muharemović's ideal lineup. The choice is hardly surprising given Džeko's experience and his status as one of the most important players in the history of Bosnian football.
Muharemović's ideal five
Muharemović's final team featured Arijanet Murić in goal, Jay Idzes in defence, Nemanja Matić and Kristian Thorstvedt in midfield, with Edin Džeko leading the attack.
The selection provides an interesting insight into the players who have shared the dressing room with Muharemović during his career. While most of his choices were connected to his time at Sassuolo, Džeko's inclusion highlights the respect he has for the experienced Bosnia and Herzegovina captain.
Muharemović is now focused on the next chapter of his career in England. After making several encouraging appearances during Leeds' pre-season campaign, the Bosnian defender will be hoping to carry that form into the Premier League and establish himself as an important part of Daniel Farke's squad.
